A photographic seeker
What I look for in the composition of my photography is simplicity as well as aestheticism. By means of the "art of omission" I try to trace my subject as much as possible to its very essence: a quest for "the power of the image".
Throughout the years I have developed a style in which I often zoom in on the subject. Sometimes this leads to abstraction and details appear that seem totally alienated from their context. In this process I don't shun extremes, like blazing backlight or unusual viewpoints.
According to me, alienated pictures don't need to be explained by any means: they can speak for themselves. My subject matters are very diverse. I find them in nature, for instance, in technique (like old timers or musical instruments) or in architecture. I've always been especially interested in photographing horses.
These last few years my work has been exhibited in various towns in the Netherlands. I have received all kinds of commissions from Dutch companies, public institutions and magazines.
Furthermore, my work has also been purchased by self-employed persons or private individuals.
Nowadays I don't work in commission anymore and are focused entirely on exploring my personal creativity.
